To stop all the screaming, shouting & verbal abuse that is now rampant in youth sports. It's about saying less and observing more. LET'S DO BETTER! @coachdiary

Another children game ruined by Adults
Grassroots@Teamgrassroots_

Another weekend ends in sickening scenes, another massive brawl by adults with children, yes children pulling them apart. We are aware of the teams, venue and timings and will be sending the footage to @FAWales for investigation. No game should ever lead to this, no adult should ever behave like this at any match, but specifically children's games. #EnoughisEnough

— they can quietly applaud good play at most. •The focus is on player development, fun, and respect rather than winning. Enjoy the game!!!

Usually, during a Silent Sideline weekend: •Coaches are limited to very minimal encouragement (e.g., clapping, substitutions, safety instructions). •Parents and spectators are asked not to shout instructions, cheer loudly, or criticise

“Silent Sideline” is an initiative used in youth sports — especially football (soccer) in Ireland, the UK, and parts of Europe — where parents, coaches, and spectators are asked to remain silent during matches.

For the weekend of the 28th March, we want to see  ‘IT’S MY GAME’ initiative in action on the sidelines at every match within our League.   For this to happen, we need you to help implement in some helpful ways of creating a positive environment on the sidelines   #itsmygame

A player who concedes a free must hand the ball to their opponent promptly and respectfully. Failure to do so will result in the free being moved forward 50 metres. -End 3/3

....being moved forward 50 metres, up to the opposition’s 13-metre line. Only the team captain — or a nominated player if the captain is no longer on the pitch — may speak to the referee for clarification on a decision.2/3

Time to bring a similar rule into football. It's one way to respect the ref. The rule could also apply to sideline behaviour. This is the rule for Gaelic Football Dissent Any display of dissent or challenge to a referee’s decision will result in the ball....1/3
