@gamearttales I sometimes fantasize of having a small auto game at the corner of my screen while I am working in the office. Something I could half cover or hide behind some notes 😜
PLEASE! We need your help! We're building a post-apocalyptic idle auto-battler. Now we're facing an important design decision: Should the game be fullscreen, or work as a desktop companion? Which would you prefer? Let us know why! #gamedev#indiedev#indiegame
@Ahwhwh2740394 Personally I think open world should be non linear objectives + hidden collectibles for exploration. If it was just a big open space with nothing to do, I'd rather it small.
I still get surprised daily just how much work it is to make a game. Every single task breaks down into 10 smaller ones.
What amazes me is that everyone who makes games, goes through the exact same thing..
@LetheStation Every single developer I know has had a wildly different experience in thier career. I would say the most important thing is knowing themselves and how they work best. Copying others could actually set them back
Talked to a fellow veteran gamedev yesterday. It made me think about what "success" means to me.
Old me would say big sales & recognition, but I've changed a lot over the past 3 years. Now success would be to have a team where we have fun making a game together. I want joy🌞
Me: finally finds the fisherman after exploring the dungeon for 20 minutes
The fisherman:
🏃💨
(yes, it’s a bug… but we’re starting to think he just doesn’t like strangers 😭)

I bought this kind of comic for the first time today and I know it reads from right to left (blue arrow)
my question is, if I read the small boxes in the direction of the red arrow or in the direction if the purple arrow
as a kid I literally never used a single one of my Max Elixiers, and RARELY used Max Revives, treating them as extremely valuable
before I knew it, the game was over, and I had a full stock of these.
As a game dev, what are some approaches to prevent this?
