BREAKING: House Democrats PASS HB26-1222 which ELIMINATES $100's of millions worth of tax breaks for Colorado businesses!
This bill is expected to cost Colorado businesses an additional $329.2 million in FY 2027-28, and hundreds of millions more each year...
This money is going to be spent on a "Family Affordability Tax Credit," which means some Coloradans will get money back on their taxes that they never paid!
It's literally robbing from businesses to handout money to low-income parents...

HB26-1222 isn’t just one bill, it’s three rolled into one to dodge the Taxpayer Bill of Rights. A new spending program + new taxes, bundled together to appear “revenue neutral”? That’s not transparency, that’s a workaround. This amendment is simple: 👉 Separate the spending from the taxes 👉 Let the people of Colorado decide If this stands, it sets a precedent for future tax increases without voter approval. Coloradans deserve a say. Businesses deserve a fair shot. Families deserve to keep more of what they earn. This amendment restores accountability.
