Nashville reporter Estefany Rodriguez, who was detained by ICE for 16 days, has just been released. She’s now on her way home from an ICE facility in Louisiana, but she had been granted bond on Monday. So, why the delay? Here’s what happened…

Attorneys told the court that family of Estefany Rodriguez will now drive to an ICE facility in Memphis…pay the bond…then travel to an ICE facility in Louisiana to pick her up. They’ll then brief the court on any bond conditions, before her lawsuit against ICE moves forward.

UPDATE: Nashville reporter Estefany Rodriguez will now most likely be released Thursday afternoon from ICE custody. Family had trouble making payment today electronically, but since the government did NOT appeal her bond by midnight, she’ll be free to go once bond is paid.

Both sides can't seem to agree if Estefany Rodriguez could have been released from custody by now. One side says there's a one-day hold that was triggered pending whether ICE attorneys want to appeal her bond. The other side says there's nothing standing in her way.

When asked who made the decision to investigate this case, McGuire says he made the decision after hearing from HSI special agent in charge Saoud. He said he can't speak to what happened before any of that. This concludes the evidentiary hearing.
