Today it is official, I was tenured and promoted to associate professor in the @montanastatecoe

Backed by a three-year $700,000 grant from the @NSF, MSU researchers are turning their expertise to an age-old medical problem: the weakening of bone that can lead to painful and disabling fractures among seniors and those with certain bone diseases.

Happy to share our newest article in Bone. We used AFM and confocal laser scanning microscopy to assess perilacunar modulus gradation. Congrats @science_rux , @QazaalVahidi, @amirdrb13 , @LewCo406
Let's try this thread thing. 1/n

We used AFM to map cortical bone modulus for labeled and non-labeled osteocyte lacunae, 5 mo and 22 mo mice. Perilacunar modulus shows a peak modulus within several hundred nm of lacunar wall. This peak was lower for labeled lacunae at both ages. Proud of @science_rux and team.
