You can check pronunciation for all dialects (the app links to an English-Irish dictionary). C = Connacht, M= Mumhan (Munster) U = Uladh (Ulster)

I've started doing one of those Duo Lingo courses to learn Irish. I can now say tea with milk and sugar. 'tae le bainne agus siúcra.' I don't think I need go any further. I am fluent for my needs 💅

@BridgeBooksDro1 @an_droichead have a range of online classes, and a weekend intensive course coming up soon too: fareharbor.com/embeds/book/an… Duolingo teaches An Caighdean (standard) pronunciation. Tá blas Uladh de dhíth ort (you need Ulster dialect!).

@BridgeBooksDro1 On Duolingo? Some of the phrases are probably quite random. They definitely are weird on the Italian course. I’ve had ‘Il cuoco cucina un serpente’ (the cook cooks a snake - yummy!). It’s all reinforcing grammar rules though.

@BridgeBooksDro1 Tae lag = weak tea. 🙂 (Lag pronounced as it is in English.)

Very much enjoyed the January book, and now looking forward to February’s selection. (Though in the middle of a tome at the minute, so might be well into the month by the time I get started!)

@paulmccarthy79 All grand. Blocked in on Friday by a number of fallen trees in our lanes, but no damage done to the house at least. Neighbours helped with chainsaws on Friday afternoon, so will have enough firewood for the next few years! Take it Éowyn left you guys alone?
