PSA: Ice Safety Warning Although temperatures have been very cold, we have yet to see consistent freezing conditions to make the ice safe for winter activities. Earlier today, our crews responded to a minor rescue involving a person who experienced a medical event while on the ice at the town reservoir. Fortunately, the individual did not fall through the ice, but our team observed several areas with dangerous ice conditions. Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing again this weekend, further impacting ice safety. Please stay off the ice and prioritize safety for yourself and others. #IceSafety #WinterSafety #StayOffTheIce #FirefighterPSA #PublicSafety #ColdWeatherTips #YourLexingtonFirefighters #ThinkBeforeYouStep @TownOfLexMA @MassDFS @Lexington250

On June 20, 2024, Bridger Clark-Alderman, stepson of Firefighter Paramedic Richard Lucius, was honored with the Medal of Merit, a heroism award from Scouts BSA. Bridger provided critical first aid, including fashioning a handmade tourniquet, to stop a life-threatening bleed.

Phone service will be intermittent this morning as staff continue to move into our new building. Our business line, (781) 862-1212, will still be available – but you may not be able to reach the phone lines of individual staff members. 911 service will NOT be impacted.

Today, Ladder 1 came to the rescue to save a woodpecker trapped in a chimney. The little bird was thrilled to be back in the open air and quickly flew off in search of a birdbath! This marks the second successful bird rescue of Lt. McKinney's career! #birdlovers #woodpecker
