PSA: Ice Safety Warning Although temperatures have been very cold, we have yet to see consistent freezing conditions to make the ice safe for winter activities. Earlier today, our crews responded to a minor rescue involving a person who experienced a medical event while on the ice at the town reservoir. Fortunately, the individual did not fall through the ice, but our team observed several areas with dangerous ice conditions. Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing again this weekend, further impacting ice safety. Last night, a fast-moving brush fire was stopped by #yourlexingtonfirefighters from A Group. The fire’s close proximity to elderly housing made a quick and effective response critical. On June 20, 2024, Bridger Clark-Alderman, stepson of Firefighter Paramedic Richard Lucius, was honored with the Medal of Merit, a heroism award from Scouts BSA. Bridger provided critical first aid, including fashioning a handmade tourniquet, to stop a life-threatening bleed.
