Turns out my wife's Dr. doesn't have to do the appeal today. Wife called our insurance company and just calmly asked for the denials in letter form so when she dies from liver failure a paper trail will be started for legal purposes. Did wonders. Liver biopsy is approved.

American perceptions of enforcing a no-fly zone are similar to American perceptions of passing a new law. In discussion, people think establishing policy enacts change and solves a problem. In practice, you have to use people with guns to enforce that policy to enact change.

Chinese FM Wang Yi didn’t “deplore” the outbreak of conflict. He used Chinese word “痛惜“, which means deeply grieved. More important, 痛惜 doesn’t include the meaning of criticism. Financial Times shouldn’t translate the word as “deplore”.

Downside of home equity gains…. Insurance rates are going to give a lot of people sticker shock this year. Companies are suggesting rate hikes in the 25-50% range and my own renewals echo those figures. Add in property tax increases & there is gonna be a lot of complaining.
