Curious, Who still has a telephone land line? We got rid of ours with no regrets 12 years ago. Felt like a big decision at the time.

@FoodProfessor I’d love to see your take on Canola Oil, its history and how it became a staple. Especially now as there are more and more negative reports concerning seed oils.

Some positive news for Canada’s canola sector. On Friday, Pakistan announced it will lift restrictions and resume imports of Canadian canola. Many expect Pakistan to act as a transshipment hub for China—similar to how Dubai handles crush capacity and re-exports to Chinese markets. Earlier this year, Pakistan reached a comparable arrangement with Australia, though the resulting increase in exports was minimal.

The two situations are not remotely comparable. We are one eighth the American population, they are eight times ours. We are not threatening to annex America, or launching unprovoked tariff attacks designed to destroy major American industries. Besides which, the ad doesn’t attack anybody, but merely enlists a well-regarded former American leader in the campaign against tariffs. It was not run by “Canada” but by Ontario. So the closest comparator would be if Texas or California ran ads on Canadian TV politely pointing out that Sir John A. was pro-tariffs. How would we respond? I feel pretty safe in saying: with a big yawn.

Not unexpected but the rain forecasted for us was a bust, glad for excellent forecasting from the weather apps. Keeps a person hopes up. Glad for whoever got the rain totals they were forecasted.
