The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) has announced a coordinated statewide test of local alerting systems. The purpose of this test is to evaluate the effectiveness and functionality of the public warning tools that communities across Texas rely on during emergencies. What to Expect in Cedar Park The statewide test will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2026, between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The City of Cedar Park will be conducting our alert testing between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., which will include our Parks Severe Weather Alert System. However, depending on the number of systems you are subscribed to, you may receive alerts through one or more of the following channels: • Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on your mobile device • Outdoor warning sirens • Notifications from local emergency management agencies • School district alert systems • Other community alert systems No action is required on your part. These are test alerts only. There is no emergency. Stay Connected and Stay Prepared This is a great reminder that being registered with your local alert system is one of the most important steps you can take for your family's preparedness.
