Israail government wants to ensure that UAE president MbZ, gets so damaged by his intimate Israeli engagement that he can’t cut a deal with Iran or play any role in GCC, independent of Israel. Having known MbZ I find this depressing.

Iran’s proxies attacked our troops & diplomats under Biden, NOT under this Trump admin prior to Epic Fury, hence the 30 months time frame. When Trump returned to office in January of 2025 those attacks stopped. Iran stoped its proxies from attacking us b/c they knew Trump would hit back & they wanted to reach a deal w/Trump. A deal was in the works, that deal would have thwarted Israel’s goal of getting us committed to a war against Iran, so Israel did everything they could to get us into a war with Iran. Iran holding back its proxies & the protests against the regime in January show that Trump’s max pressure & strategic targeted strike campaign was working, tragically this success was squandered by letting the Israelis drive our decision making.

CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper says Iran and its proxies attacked U.S. troops and diplomats roughly 350 times in just 30 months before Operation Epic Fury. “That’s about every third day,” Cooper testified.

Based on the alarm @UNSRVAW and I had raised in February 2024, a few days later I gave a long interview to the NYT on cases of sexual violence against Palestinian women in Israeli detention centers. Don't recall NYT ever publishing that interview.
بن مرمريلي בן מרמרלי Ben Marmarelli@mrmrly44557

A very serious investigation has been published in @nytimes about rape and sexual violence carried out by the authorities in Israel. I am also quoted in this article as one of many, many people who provided accounts to this newspaper, which is considered extremely pro-Israeli. In response, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote that these are antisemitic “blood libels.” It is clear that the reports already published by Al Jazeera in 2024, and by me in 2025 when the BBC censored and deleted the interview with me, are true. People simply need to listen to Palestinians. But the world does not listen to Palestinians. It only listens when it is written in The New York Times — and now it is written there.

When Volodymyr Zelenskyy hired me, I knew every line of his 2019 presidential campaign by heart. I had watched him promise, again and again, that unlike his predecessor Petro Poroshenko, he would never be tainted by corruption. In a live broadcast of the talk show “Right to Power” in April 2019, the comedian-turned-candidate declared that he could never be suspected of shady enrichment schemes. If evidence ever surfaced, he said, he would resign immediately. “If I break the law, I will leave office myself,” he vowed. iuliiamendel.substack.com/p/zelenskyys-b…

“No one escaped sexual assaults… Not all were raped, I would say, but everyone went through humiliating, filthy sexual assaults”: Details on the individual cases of Palestinian prisoners abused in Israeli detention, interviewed by NYT: ▪️Sami al-Sai, a 46-year-old Palestinian freelance journalist, said guards beat him, stepped on his head and neck, stripped him naked, and tried to force a rubber baton into his rectum before one guard shouted in Hebrew: “Give me the carrots.” He said guards then assaulted him with a carrot while laughing. “It was extremely painful,” he told Kristof. “I was praying for death.” A female guard allegedly grabbed his penis and testicles and joked: “these are mine.” Al-Sai said guards later left him handcuffed on the ground during what he realized was “their smoking break.” When he was finally dumped into a prison cell, he said he discovered “other people’s vomit, blood and broken teeth” crushed into his skin. He told Kristof he believed the abuse was partly intended to pressure him into becoming an informant for Israeli intelligence. ▪️A Palestinian farmer held for months without charges under administrative detention said guards pinned him down by his arms and legs, stripped him, and raped him with a metal baton while “laughing and cheering.” Hours later, after collapsing and briefly being taken to a prison clinic, he said guards raped him again with the baton. “I was bleeding,” he recalled. “I broke down completely. I was crying.” After he asked for pen and paper to file a complaint, guards returned to his cell later that evening. “Who is the one who wants to file a complaint?” one mocked before the farmer was beaten and raped a third time. Another guard allegedly told him: “Now you have even more to put in your complaint.” Days after speaking to Kristof, the farmer reportedly withdrew permission to use his name after a visit from Shin Bet officers warning him not to “cause trouble.” ▪️A 23-year-old Palestinian woman arrested after October 7 said Israeli soldiers threatened to rape her, her mother, and her young niece during her arrest. She told Kristof male and female guards repeatedly stripped her naked, handcuffed her behind her back, bent her over toilets, beat her, and groped her body during repeated “searches.” “They had their hands all over my body,” she said. “To be honest, I don’t know if they raped me,” because she sometimes lost consciousness from the beatings. “It was as if they were introducing me to everyone who worked there,” she said. “At the beginning of each shift, they would bring the guys to strip me.” Before release, she said six officials warned that if she spoke publicly “they would rape me, kill me and kill my father.” ▪️A Palestinian journalist from Gaza said guards zip-tied his penis and testicles for hours while beating his genitals so badly that he urinated blood for days afterward. “No one escaped sexual assaults,” he told Kristof. “Not all were raped, I would say, but everyone went through humiliating, filthy sexual assaults.” He also alleged that while blindfolded and handcuffed, guards summoned a police dog that mounted and penetrated him while guards photographed the rape and laughed. “They were using cameras to take photos, and I heard their laughs and giggles,” he said. After release, he said an Israeli official warned him: “If you want to stay alive when you return, do not speak to the media.” Despite the threats, he said he spoke publicly because “there are people still in there.” ▪️Three Palestinian teenage boys detained by Israeli authorities described sexual abuse, beatings, forced nudity, and repeated rape threats directed at both them and their mothers. One 15-year-old boy told Kristof guards routinely threatened detainees by saying: “Do this or we’ll put this stick up your butt.” The boys described rape threats and sexual humiliation as routine parts of detention.
Nicholas Kristof@NickKristof

This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: nytimes.com/2026/05/11/opi…

The undisputed valor of our troops and the tactical brilliance of our military operations do not equal strategic success. If they did, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, and Yemen would look very different today. We can bomb and blockade Iran, or get dragged into something far worse, but none of it will force Iranian leaders to behave the way we want. We can accept this reality now and clearly define what our actual interests are in the region, or we can be forced to accept it later—after losing more American lives and trillions of taxpayer dollars. Yes, our military can sustain operations and crush any enemy in nearly any battle (while losing the war). But to what end? What’s in it for the American people? It's foolish to think we can keep launching these senseless foreign interventions and maintain our status as the world’s most powerful nation. This is the glaring blind spot that our foreign policy has failed to address for decades.

This should be on the front page of every newspaper in America. A Syrian billionaire needed U.S. sanctions lifted so he could cash in on $12 billion in reconstruction contracts. In an attempt to influence American foreign policy, he proposed a Trump-branded golf course, cut Jared Kushner & Ivanka Trump into a multibillion-dollar real estate deal for a resort in Albania, and had someone physically deliver a stone engraved with the Trump family crest to a Republican Member of Congress with instructions to take it to the White House to get the President's attention. Trump threw his weight behind repealing the sanctions. They were lifted. The contracts are moving, the Trump family’s deals are expanding, and not a single Washington Republican is willing to say a word about any of it. This is a corruption of everything the office of the presidency is supposed to stand for, and the American people deserve to know about it. nytimes.com/2026/04/19/us/…

💢 BREAKING | Israeli settlers shoot dead a 14-year-old student and a 32-year-old man at a West Bank school, with Israeli forces providing protection Israeli settlers opened fire on Al-Mughair Boys School in the village of Al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah, on Tuesday afternoon, killing a 14-year-old student, Aws Hamdi Al-Naasan, and a 32-year-old man, Jihad Marzouq Abu Naim, and wounding three others with live bullets, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA and the Ministry of Health. A paramedic at the scene said at least three settlers deliberately fired at children attempting to escape from classrooms from a position approximately 50 meters away, with a level of accuracy he described as close to sniping. An eyewitness said shooting was directed at classroom windows and balconies still full of children as residents attempted to evacuate the school by crawling. Israeli forces arrived during the attack and, according to witnesses, provided protection to the settlers rather than stopping them. A 63-year-old man, Attallah Abu Aliya, said he was shot in the leg by an Israeli soldier without warning as he walked toward the school after hearing it was under attack. Their deaths bring the West Bank toll to four killed on Tuesday alone, after a 16-year-old boy was run over by a settler's vehicle in Hebron and a 49-year-old woman died from injuries sustained in an Israeli army shooting in Jenin.

ISRAEL TRAINS DOGS TO RAPE PRISONERS. ISRAEL TRAINS DOGS TO RAPE PRISONERS. ISRAEL TRAINS DOGS TO RAPE PRISONERS.
Shaiel Ben-Ephraim@academic_la

Some have said that claims that Israel uses dogs to sexually abuse prisoners are antisemitic blood libels. Unfortunately, there is a good deal of evidence. The organizations that confirmed this include B’Tselem, Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, Council on American-Islamic Relations. Here is the testimony of survivors: 1) "Nihad" (50-year-old father, Ofer Prison): In an interview with Anadolu Agency, Nihad testified that during a pre-dawn raid on January 14, 2024, Israeli soldiers ordered a police dog to sexually assault him. He described it as "the most painful moments of my life" and noted that the assault left him with deep physical wounds and long-term trauma. 2) "A.A." (35-year-old father, Sde Teiman): Arrested from Al-Shifa Hospital in March 2024, A.A. told the PCHR that soldiers took him to a corridor away from cameras, stripped him naked, and unleashed dogs that urinated on him before one dog raped him anally for approximately three minutes. He emphasized that the dog appeared "trained" and "knew exactly what it was doing". 3) "Halim Salem" (Pseudonym, West Bank Detainee): Testified to Middle East Eye that while he was forced to kneel with his head in a toilet, guards brought in a dog that "mounted and raped" him. He recalled that when he screamed, the guards beat him for "disturbing the dog". 4) "Wajdi" (43-year-old, Gaza Detainee): Recounted to the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor that during interrogation, he was tied naked to a metal bed and raped by both a soldier and a dog while other soldiers filmed and mocked him. 5) Mohammed Arab (Al Araby TV Correspondent): While detained at Sde Teiman, he told his lawyer he witnessed soldiers forcing dogs to rape prisoners. He stated, "They teach their dogs to have sex with prisoners. Can you imagine?". 6) 18-year-old Gazan Detainee (Sde Teiman): Testified to PCHR that while he and other captives were being raped with bottles by soldiers, there was "also a dog behind us, as if the dog was raping us," serving as a form of extreme psychological and physical humiliation. 7) 48-year-old Detainee (Al-Shifa/Military Outpost): Reported witnessing a dog maul another man’s genitals until the victim bled to death in his arms. 8) The Committee to Protect Journalists and Middle East Monitor have collected dozens of testimonies from journalists who reported being subjected to "dog attacks" and sexualized torture during their detention. I talked to two guards in Sde Teiman, on more than one occasion. One had seen this happen and said it was too awful to talk about. The other said that he had heard about it from others and believed it was true. This happened. This is happening still. The evidence is too overwhelming.
