Liberal Democrats will always fight for Proportional Representation, to make sure politics works for everyone. We may have every councillor on some councils, but we don't have every vote. Everyone's voice deserves to be heard and represented.

Our amendment on the order paper for tomorrow - calling on the UK government to negotiate a customs union with the EU, as the first step to getting back to the heart of Europe. We hope all those Labour MPs quietly agreeing with us will do the right thing and vote for our amendment tomorrow.

Tomorrow, MPs will vote on @AlPinkerton’s amendment to the King's Speech - to negotiate a UK-EU customs union. We know there are many Labour MPs who agree that Brexit has done huge damage to our country. Will they back our vote tomorrow?

Liberal Democrats have always been clear that Britain’s future lies back in the EU, and we have a credible plan to get there - starting with a UK-EU customs union.

Sarah Teather spent her career fighting for children living in poverty, led a refugee charity, and in March made her maiden speech in the House of Lords "I pledge to use my voice here to create space for all those whose voices continue to be silenced."
