@BassFromThePast If anything, I see it as raising the skill ceiling, because it takes away a necessary autopilot comm (better players/teams being able to replace it with something more useful), and rewards being better at looking around the field. Not a huge effect, but it will change some things

Ok so correct me if I’m wrong but I really don’t think this is gonna effect the game at a pro/semi-pro level. A lot of high level players are mentioning this will lower skill ceiling, it will take away their “advantage” of boost tracking, etc. But once you get to this level, wouldn’t it be second nature to keep track of your teammates boost already vs looking at visual indicators on the pitch? In addition, especially at pro level, most teams are already comming boost in team comms. I don’t think it will completely not effect high level play but this really feels like a change that will mostly effect lower level players. Maybe I’m missing something but some of the harsher takes I saw yesterday just felt wrong.

I still stand by saying the first person to make a season mode with the Nexto and higher level bots will be a genius. Imagine FIFA career mode but in RL. Pick an org and play in RLCS with them, it’d be sick af. If someone can make a Bakkes plugin of this I’d love you forever 🙏

@SkizzenRL I usually say to turn forward with the intention of full speed back to net if the kickoff doesn't go to your side. Turning back is fine if you expect the kickoff to go the other way, or you just want to be safe (e.g., don't trust your reactions or have a big lead).

Do you turn back or forward after grabbing the back boost on kickoffs? What's your rule?

@Wronskian_ Several replies are only talking about scoring solo plays, which is definitely not the main value of being threatening on the ball. Being able to threaten that solo play while _simultaneously_ threatening at least one pass is the real power of a mechanical player

Is it more important to be mechanically threatening with the ball, or to control boost and demos? It may be playstyle dependent and strictly situational. In a perfect world, a player can do all. I am curious to hear opinions from colleagues in the competitive Rocket League space.

@QuarkBird @x45x Two wood/four stone/one iron, prioritizing the lowest that they can afford. It's absolutely massive on PS2, Kalos, and HB because they can't get more wood than the starting supply. And it respawns automatically. If they're offstage, it's destroyed and they lose the cost again
