The global financial architecture is outdated, dysfunctional & unjust. Today I urged participants at the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact to take action to meet the urgent needs of developing countries.

360 million people need humanitarian assistance – up 30% since the start of last year. We know what needs to be done. We need the funds to do it.

President Macron at Summit for a new Global Financing Pact: “We need much more investment from the private sector to serve progress for the planet and to face the challenges of poverty, climate and biodiversity.”

I urge all financial institutions to present public, credible & detailed plans to transition their funding from fossil fuels to clean energy. To those institutions already doing this shift I say: Do not relent in the face of attacks on progress. You are doing the right thing.
