The sun smiled at me today.
I asked her, Why so much suffering?
She said,
You are not in pain.
You imagine suffering,
and it distracts you from life.
I asked, Is it all in my mind?
She said,
Do not conform to the measure of this world.
All turns to ashes.
And I smiled at the sun,
for I felt no pain.

Turning NYC into the Mushroom Kingdom.
Socialist mayor Zohran Mamdani uses Mario Kart to try to put a positive spin on his far-left agenda:
“Government is Yoshi and philanthropy is the golden mushroom, that edge we need to beat Bowser on the Rainbow Road.”
“To belabor this metaphor even further, Bowser is corporate greed in this scenario.”

I have not seen heaven, yet priests say God told them there is free honey and milk there; I do not understand them, but I must believe them. Priests are never wrong.
I have not seen inside atoms, yet scientists say there is a universe inside each atom because they used important equipment to observe it and wrote important equations for it; I do not understand them, but I must believe them. Scientists are never wrong.

The Bench
I sat on a bench by a river.
I found quiet in the loud sound of water.
A little bird rose and said,
“Where are you from, and where do you go?”
I said, “Planet Earth, and I do not know where to go.”
The bird flew off before my words were done.
Was it a bird, or was it my mind
That kept asking where I go?
The river said, “Neither do I know,
But I am happy to flow with time.”
