@RobynsDa Hi Robert, I checked back in with the support team and I believe they have sent you an email with some suggestions focussed around the quicktime codec on your windows system. I hope this helps you sort out the problem.

@Lifecake Hi, I’ve DL’d all the zip files from your site. All the videos are corrupted. I’m confident it’s your compression system not me uncompressing that is at fault. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yesterday we made the announcement that Lifecake is closing. As a result there has been a lot of confusion about subscriptions, refunds and ownership. We are really sorry. We want things to be very clear so we are writing to all Lifecake customers.

@kimfransman Hi Kim, I'm afraid I don't know what the BackThen Team's plans are with their app. I'm sure if you drop them a line using support@backthen.app they would be happy to hear from you.

@Lifecake Well, It's actually possible, i see the data returned from your own API in json format. You have chosen to not make it accessible for users. BIG DIFFERENCE. I know how to dl the media, but I want the comments as well. Will there be a real export feature built into @backthenapp ?

Hey @lifecake, would it be possible to get a json-dump, csv, excel etc of just the metadata for all my content? The data is there, obviously. Or do i really need to build a scraper to get my data before you shut down?

@Lifecake half of my family cannot access the new app as they have older tablets, the new app needs to be made available on web browsers it's really disappointing that you have done this during a time when this app was the only way for family to see photos my nan is very upset.

WEB COMING July 1st 2020. Fast, efficient and also works well on older mobile devices and tablets.

Hey @Lifecake - we are not impressed by your decision to force a port to BackThen during pandemic & lockdown. Our kids’ great-grandmother relies on the service to see her gchldren - she’s 93, cannot manage the transfer process, & WE CAN’T VISIT TO FIX IT. Thanks for nothing!

@Lifecake - you’ve made it extremely hard to convert to @BackThenApp 🤬. I’ve got all my pics/videos downloaded on my computer, how on earth am I supposed to get them on the app now?! There’s no website?!

@Lifecake Ok thanks for claryfing. This feels rushed and poorly planned. I’m guessing Canon gave you very little time and choice? As a person building products it would be very interesting to get the story some day. What learnings you got from it etc.

Hey @Lifecake , any plans on making api.lifecake.com available? I just want to download my content (with comments and likes) and decide later what to do with it. Putting it on another service just doesn't feel good given the situation.

@jaynelynette Hi Jayne, Sorry to hear you are having difficulties. Do you see any sort of error message? Are you clicking download on one file at a time, or are you clicking on many to do simultaneous downloads? Does the download always fail in the same place?

@_mcph @CanonUKandIE Hi Marco, Sorry if it is not clear in the FAQ I pointed you at, but you do not have to send invites again. All you need to do is ask people to: 1. Open the Lifecake app 2. Go to Menu 3. Tap the ‘Tell Me More’ button Follow the instructions to create an account.

@Lifecake @CanonUKandIE Thank you. I have already followed the steps of this guide. The problem is that you can migrate your pic and video but you have to invite again the people that used to be connected with me in lifecake. This is manual and it sends an email with a random picture from your account.

@_mcph @CanonUKandIE Hi Marco, if you choose to migrate to BackThen's app all your photos and videos will be moved across. There is nothing random. There is a guide on how to transfer in the BackThen FAQs. No invites need to be sent to existing family & friends on Lifecake. support.backthen.app/hc/en-us/artic…

@thepublicturner @Lifecake @CanonUKandIE I just want to download my album and abandon. I don’t want to move me and all my family to a new service much more expensive, with no advantages, with invitation mails with pictures chosen randomly by an algorithm and a not clear transfer method. Why you are changing?
