You don’t need satellite arrays to get a radar lock. Stealth coatings are to negate ground & air based radar more so than satellite enhanced targeting, so it is always viable

And now there are ten thousand in low earth orbit providing real time imaging of the entire planet at all times. I wonder if there are any governments that still think aircraft stealth is a viable tactic for anyone other than the US. Or ones that think anything done under an open sky is ever secret. It's a really fine point here, but palantir is just a software company. It's like Microsoft office, but for big data/ai stuff. The spying and all of the illegal stuff is and was happening without the software. Palantir just gives them software to do what they do faster, cheaper, and more accurately. The software is useful for all kinds of logistics and analytics use cases outside of being used to synthesize intel. My point is that IF the DoW does anything illegal or unethical with these tools is a totally separate problem than whether the tools should exist, and blaming palantir for government policy is pointless

Working for Lockheed is substantially less evil than working for Palantir. Lockheed makes shit that blow people up which is a decision someone has to make every time they use that capability and it has a certain threshold for use and you can always lobby or demonstrate to not use it. Palantir makes shit that will surveil and enslave; and once it is there, it is always there, always on, always in use, forever, and you’ll never know it is in use or how it’s in use.

@MinuteofZombie Lockheed is a really really big company and they do a lot of stuff other than make weapons. Palatir makes database SaaS. You can spin it to make it sound nefarious, and I think they like it for their marketing, but these information system aren't new. They just used to suck more
