The forced hate for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 comes from 2 lies that are being pushed about its fandom: Lie #1: People only like E33 because it's their first JRPG Truth: Many people who love E33 are lifelong JRPG fans who have felt disappointed in the genre for decades. For me, nothing has hit like this game since OG FF7 (1997) and maybe FFX (2001). For many people, this is the first time in ages they've felt the rush of a New Game hitting with that Old Game Magic E33 also destroyed the lie that Turn-Based Combat would not look good in realistic graphics (a baseless excuse made for Final Fantasy for years). For long-time FF fans who've been bullied & gaslit about this issue, E33 is extremely vindicating Lie #2: People who love E33 have never heard of Bravely Default, Dragon Quest, Octopath Traveller, Persona etc Truth: Pixel / Anime / Low-Poly 3D games do not have the same mainstream appeal as realistic 3D. I'm not saying those games are bad, I'm saying they're niche. Some are huge within that niche, and that's great. But every Anime Fan (myself included) knows the pain of trying to get someone to try their favorite thing - but they won't because they "just don't like the style" Not only that, many modern JRPGs suffer from dialogue bloat, sluggish pacing, and an overall childish tone. You might be ok with it, but those are dealbreakers for many people. There's a saying: "We grew up, but the games didn't." Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the best of the Old mixed with the best of the New, with none of the BS of either. That is why it is so successful and respected amongst its fandom. It's mainstream success is a victory for the JRPG scene. It's made average gamers curious to see what else the genre has to offer. And there's a lot of gold to be found. #ClairObscurExpedition33 #Expedition33 #ClairObscur

A magnum opus of art and culture in an industry plagued by greed, with a budget of a bag of potato chips and a passionate team, a story moving everyone to tears and gameplay that revives an entire genre and redeems the french. "Durr make sure it doesn't win GOTY because no pvp"
