@financedystop While it might be excruciatingly painful, to land a good paying job, you (and your family) have to relocate. I had to do that at 46 and at 55, but I was willing to relocate all over the southeast. You have to be able to adjust. He who overcomes adversity the best - WINS.

A lot of Americans in the 55–65 age range are getting forced into early retirement after being laid off and replaced. He spent 35 years working in IT and suddenly got let go. It’s that brutal gap where you’re not old enough to comfortably retire with benefits, but not young enough for a lot of companies that want younger and cheaper workers.

TO WHOEVER thought it would be funny to surround my truck with shopping carts in the parking lot tonight… I hope you realize I have a dash cam. 🙂 I will absolutely be reviewing the footage, because this wasn’t funny. It wasn’t harmless. It was childish, annoying, and honestly felt like harassment. I walked out to my truck and there were carts all around it like someone had nothing better to do than trap my vehicle in place. I had to move what felt like 50 carts just to leave. People have places to be. People are tired. Nobody wants to deal with some parking lot prank after a long day. If I find out who did it, I’m taking it further. Grow up and find something better to do. Would you report this, or just move the carts and let it go?

@FarmGirlCarrie We had numerous cotton mills in our area, and shop class included wood-working and weaving, doffing, etc for the cotton mills. I took college prep classes and none of the shop classes, but as a senior, I worked full-time after school in a cotton mill doffing cloth.
