The President of the United States is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a "whole civilization" — all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it. He was transferred from Rikers Island to Elmhurst Hospital yesterday evening, where he was receiving medical attention. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones as they endure this profound loss. Every person in our city’s care deserves dignity, safety, and access to quality medical treatment—without exception. Transparency is essential and the Department of Correction and oversight partners have begun an investigation into the circumstances of his death.
