My only losing trade on BTC and ETH in November came from taking an aggressive counter-trend setup. I was in the money at first but reversed quickly and took a 2% loss on the account, nothing major and already made back. It just highlights the obvious = the simple filters I rely on would’ve kept me out, but every now and then we override them. That’s discretionary trading and coming away from my rules / process vs being enforced via systematic trading. Reviewing these mistakes is what is important, figuring out what works well and what doesnt, but sometimes they serve as a reminder of novice mistakes we should avoid that can creep in. I dont mind losing trades on good +EV setups, but losing trades with low or -EV trades is just shit trading tbh, was it a case of trying to be too 'intelligent' in looking for a long flipping back into a short again? Yes Is that over trading ? Yes Pays to stay with the flow until the market actually starts building a base after a downtrend. Daily 12/21 mean reversion sells have been the easy plays...
