@johnsonbabsie @EFFSouthAfrica @MapulaMokgosang Indeed she was an incredible woman! The true liberator!

@EFFSouthAfrica @MapulaMokgosang Watched it already, it just reminded me how incredible she was, fearless. She fought so hard, but at the end she was betrayed by her own comrades & husband, very sad. I love her, the true liberator #MamaWinnie.❤✊🏾

EFF Statement Encouraging South Africans to Watch the Netflix Series The Trials of Winnie Mandela and Honour the Legacy of Mama Winnie
—At a time when history is being distorted, this documentary provides an opportunity for the nation to engage honestly with the life of Mama Winnie, not only as a global icon of resistance, but as a fearless revolutionary who carried the struggle on her shoulders during some of the darkest periods of apartheid repression. While many were imprisoned, exiled, or silenced, Mama Winnie stood firm inside the country, confronting the establishment while facing harassment, banishment, and isolation, yet refusing to surrender.

Corporations like Balwin deny people homeownership by buying vast tracts of well-located land, build tiny, dodgy apartments on this land and then rent these out to the people who now can’t afford to buy land to build houses anymore.
Many of these overpriced units are sold to “buy-to-let” investors rather than families, which creates a market where the primary goal is rental yield rather than homeownership.
And when the only new housings being built are “lifestyle” estates, it forces people into the rental market because the entry price to buy into those same areas is unrealistic for the average salary.
Yes, Balwin and others are building new apartment complexes, but the trick is they hoard land by buying it years before they intend to build, but then just build enough to keep demand and prices elevated.
By controlling the best-located land, these corporate developers prevent smaller, more diverse developers from entering the space. Because if one company owns the next 10 years’ worth of developable land in a specific “growth node”, they effectively set the price for that entire area.
This high price makes property a “good investment” for wealthy people and corporations, who keep buying the apartments because they know people have no choice but to rent from them.
Then, enter the neoliberal ideology that says the government should stay out of the markets, housing market included.
This creates a situation where developers pay bulk infrastructure levies to the city to connect water, electricity, and roads to new developments themselves because the government isn’t building this infrastructure fast enough.
So, developers end up building their own mini-grids or water systems and then pass those costs directly to the buyer.
So, over and above paying for a home, you’re also paying for the private utility system that the neoliberals said the state should keep out of because the private sector can do it more efficiently.
Therefore, anyone brave enough to buy a home in the urban areas pays a premium to cover the developer’s costs, and then pays monthly levies to maintain them, while still paying rates and taxes to a municipality that should provide the service in the first place, if it wasn’t for “pRiVatE sEcTor iS mOre efFiciEnt”.
This adds up to 30% to the cost of a new home compared to what it would be if the state provided the bulk services.
The outcome is that you are left with people unable to form households, multigenerational overcrowding, and massive portions of income going to rent.

How to destroy a nation.
1.Flood it with immigrants (documented or undocumented).
2.Starve the native population out of economic opportunities (jobs and businesses).
3.Give economic power to migrants who in turn use that economic power to subjugate the natives.
4.Natives will beg for livelihoods from migrants in their own country.
5.Migrants take over the running of key institutions such as Media, Education, NGOs, SOEs, key government departments.
6.Migrants will dictate economy, agenda & culture, and natives will have to assume the culture of the migrants as they are economically dependent on them.

We are saddened to hear about the killing of another Taxi Boss, Chairman of ATA and Director of ABC Vusi Mayaba. Mr Mayaba was shot last night in Woodmead as he was leaving a restaurant. We are very much concerned that there has been multiple murders that are Taxi related including 3 Taxi bosses in the City of Johannesburg, one in Soweto and two in Alex. This is too much. 🙆♂️😭🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
