Incredibly grateful to all of you who have reached out, offering prayers, encouragement, and advice, and asking us what specifically to pray for. I recorded this update a couple of days ago when I happened to already have my hair and makeup done for an interview with my friend @ericmetaxas . (NOT gonna waste a good makeup day, right?!? 😄 ). Right now I’m sitting here undergoing my first chemo infusion. So I will humbly ask for prayers for a complete response. I can tell you that God has been very good and that I have experienced minimal side effects so far and the Basham family has been enjoying great peace. The Psalm from my Bible reading plan today was providentially apt: “Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me. Take up shield and armor; arise and come to my aid. Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to me, ‘I am your salvation.’” Trusting in the One who fights for me to fight this cancer.
