Former nurse, now a family doc. Too many trolls and bots here, including the owner. Mask wearing is a social justice issue. Bare face = ableism.

People have forgotten this experience with covid infection is still possible, ‘tho much less likely than in ‘21. Please update your vaccinations, stay home when sick, wear a mask in public spaces, clean your air; by doing so, you ⬇️ risk of sequelae. #Covid19 #vaccineswork

1) My family’s experience with COVID in Thailand. On May 30th, a part time helper, employed by us to help with laundry, cleaning and most importantly caring for my 2 1/2 year old son and 10 year old daughter came to our home. When I returned home from work, she appeared ill.

One of the top posts on /r/millennials is about how everyone is exhausted and I'm noticing an increase in COVID being mentioned on popular reddits, without being downvoted to oblivion. This is progress compared to previous years. Keep getting the word out, it matters.

Zohran Mamdani won New York because - he ran a relentlessly positive campaign - he fought for affordability against billionaires monopolizing all opportunity, power and influence - he stood up against a genocide when others were too timid One of the miracles of democracy is watching a nation self-correct in real-time. Hopefully we're seeing some of that happen now.

What is happening to so many COVID-conscious people has a name: social exclusion. If this is a new feeling for you, it can be incredibly confusing and painful. For many of us who have always been "outsiders," the mask is just one more reason on a long list. But now you're feeling it: the conversations that die, the invitations that stop, the silence where your concerns used to be. This is not an accident. Our society uses exclusion—excommunication, exile, ostracism—as a penalty for non-conformity. It is a tool to enforce the status quo. The pain you feel is real. It's called an exclusion injury, and it registers in the brain similarly to physical pain. Your body is telling you a truth: that connection is being severed as a punishment. This is article discusses the research of Matthew Lieberman: inknownative.com/blog/exclusion… Link to Lieberman's book: amazon.com/Social-Why-Bra… @TMaritanoAquino

Last year I started taking screenshots of posts that expressed the extraordinarily strange experiences that I, & others in our little Covid-aware corners, are having. This was the 1st; now I have 100’s. My phone is a documentary, a witness to a trauma unknown to most.

There are two main ways to make people feel safe: 1) lie to them that there is no danger 2) take action to reduce the danger Why, in the name of all that is rational, did society choose option 1.

The reason for this is multi-factorial, but the fact that Long Covid is not mentioned once is extremely telling. Especially since the article makes an explicit comparison with 2019. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Another day, another conversation among colleagues lamenting the colds and flus they can’t seem to shake off. Meanwhile I’m masking and air purifying at work, trying to not get all the viruses.

Just another day of being only person at a conference wearing a mask. Room full of 100+ HCWs & nobody protecting their health, 🧠 or telomeres, nor community. Appreciate having black Vitacore Can99 mask! #saltingthevibes #CovidisAirborne #YallMasking

PMC COVlD Update, Nov 3, 2025 (U.S.) 1 of 9 🧵 The relative "lull" in SARS-CoV-2 transmission is unlikely to go much lower. ✨1 in 209 people are estimated actively infectious, likely the lowest levels of 2025 nationwide. Get boosted. Stock up on masks, tests, & filters.
