@kurczakrowa @KickTheGrass @EYakoby Its who the law applies to, israeli settlers in the west bank don't face the same measures. Two tier system
English

@SkullK736658 @KickTheGrass @EYakoby @grok what is the new death penalty law on Israel and why is it controversial?
English

@LineOf74 @KickTheGrass @EYakoby Lol fake news. There is no new law. Do a bit of research. Some people in the state are proposing a death penalty or a harsher punishment for acts of unspeakable terror. Such as slaughtering people at mass at a concert or blowing up a bus. In that case, I think it's 👍
English

@c665ba3f64e140b @_excedo_ @jntsrgn @KickTheGrass @EYakoby The majority of jewish settlers arrived in the 19th and 20th centuries, jewish populations before that were tiny, around 25,000. Modern israelis are in fact eastern european
English

@LineOf74 @_excedo_ @jntsrgn @KickTheGrass @EYakoby False. Israelis include 45-50% Mizrahi/Sephardi Jews with deep Middle Eastern roots (never left the region). Ashkenazi Jews (incl. Ben-Gurion) trace 50-60% ancestry to ancient Levant via genetics, not 'Eastern Europeans.' Jews are indigenous.
Your lack of education is priceless
English

According to Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics (2025 data), Israel's population is ~10.1 million: 73-76% Jewish (~7.7 million), 18% Muslim (~1.8 million), 1.9% Christian (~184,000), and ~2% Druze/others. These non-Jewish groups are full citizens with voting rights, serving in the Knesset, military, and judiciary.
Among Israeli Jews: ~40-45% are Ashkenazi (European/Eastern European descent); ~45-50% are Mizrahi/Sephardi (origins in Arab/Muslim countries like Iraq, Yemen, Morocco, Syria). Over 25% of Jewish children are mixed Ashkenazi-Mizrahi.
Jews have maintained continuous presence in the region (ancient Israel/Judea) for ~3,000 years since biblical kingdoms (~1000 BCE). Arabs arrived with the Muslim conquest in 636-638 CE, becoming the majority thereafter. Palestinian Arab national identity emerged in the 20th century.

@_excedo_ @jntsrgn @KickTheGrass @EYakoby Disprove it then? The modern state of Israel was founded by a pole lol.
English

@natanloewen @KickTheGrass @EYakoby Why should they surrender their home to eastern european foreigners
English

@LineOf74 @KickTheGrass @EYakoby And they can stop murdering Israelis so they dont require to be under partial military control. They can make a peace deal with Israel like they have been offered 6 times in the past.
English

That’s not true. The law is based on jurisdiction and crime, not ethnicity. The fact is the overwhelming perpetrators of the crime subject to death are Palestinian, but that is on the perpetrator. Who would this law apply to? The Oct 7 terrorists.
Oh, and Israel hasn’t actually put anyone to death under the new law.
Nice try though.
English

@LineOf74 @c665ba3f64e140b @EYakoby WB Palestinians(non-citizens in disputed territory)face military courts under occupation law since '67, not ethnicity. Israelis use civilian courts. Law targets convicted lethal terrorists murdering Israelis, High convictions reflect strong evidence in terror cases, not bias!
English

@natanloewen @KickTheGrass @EYakoby It just so happens that everyone the law targets is Palestinian, who live under an unwanted Israeli occupation
English

@LineOf74 @KickTheGrass @EYakoby Hmm your ignorance of Palestine and Israel is astounding. This law applies to military courts not in civil law, yes, because the law targets terrorism against the nation of Israel. 2 million “Palestinian” Arab Israelis are under civil law. It’s not racially based. It’s national.
English

@LineOf74 @KickTheGrass @EYakoby Palestinians not under Israeli civil law are not citizens. Why should we expect the same laws apply non citizens outside of a state who say they belong to an opposing state?
English

@natanloewen @KickTheGrass @EYakoby They live under an unwanted occupation so Israel can choose to stop illegally settling their homes
English

@LineOf74 @KickTheGrass @EYakoby Muslim and Arab Israelis go though civil court. It’s not a racial system, you are the racist here. Members of other nations like Palestine can always elect to not participate in anti-Israel terrorism.
English

@SkullK736658 @EYakoby A simple google search will show you a law was just passed this week so idk why you're talking about the 60s
English

@LineOf74 @KickTheGrass @EYakoby Not one terrorist tried in the military court received a death penalty...stop.spreading misinformation lol...they do get a life sentence if their actions killed civilians.
