1/2 Governance update: HSP-027 has officially passed voting! 🗳️ The legacy 30% developer gas rebate is transitioning to 0%, meaning 100% of transaction execution fees will route directly to NEAR’s native protocol fee processing once the update is deployed. This change simplifies the fee structure, and features zero breaking changes for active builders or dApp users. I got into crypto almost 10 years ago because I saw the potential for programmable money to reduce government bureaucracy, increase transparency, and distribute funds according to clear rules. Fast forward to today, and Bermuda is showing what that can look like in practice with their new @near_ai powered secure AI assistant for public servants, starting with a pension calculator prototype that helps process sensitive administrative workflows. Huge shoutout to @BermudaPremier for championing this!

In trying times like this it was great to see collaboration between 5 different ecosystem teams and also global partners to track down what happened, responsible actor and recover funds. Security and resilience is going to be an ever more important goals for NEAR overall.

NEAR Intents and near.com have resumed services. NEAR Intents and near.com were not at risk from the incident involving @rhea_finance. The pause was a precautionary measure to assess transactions that may have been linked to the exploit and to support the recovery of stolen funds, consistent with Intents’ compliance and monitoring procedures. We are continuing to work closely with the Rhea team and relevant third parties to investigate the incident, and will share updates as information becomes available.
