OTD 55 years ago 19th May 1971 the Blues played Cork Hibernians in the Blaxnit All-Ireland Cup Final at Windsor, 1st leg tie which finished 1-1. Two days in the second leg we triumphed 2-1 to clinch the Trophy 3-2 on aggregate!

Members of the Forever Blue group are invited to take part in a special tour of Windsor Park on Wednesday 20 May 2026. The tour will begin at 2.30pm sharp and will commence from the Linfield office. To date, 19 members have confirmed their attendance, with space still available for a further 16 supporters. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Anyone wishing to attend should email Stephen Shaw at stephen.shaw@linfieldfc.com and include a contact mobile number. While there is no charge for the tour, donations in support of the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

2/2 ..Tom completed his treble set of British Cup successes. With Cardiff he had already won the FA Cup and the Welsh Cup. His team mate in all 3 victories was Tommy Sloan who also came to the Blues from Cardiff Tom Watson is buried in Carnmoney East Cemetery (Plot U38) ❤️🤍💙

Today we remember Tom Watson who passed away on 13th May 1978 Tom, who was also an Irish International, played for Linfield in the Irish League & Irish Cup double season of 1929/1930. Lifting the 1930 Irish Cup (with a 4-3 win over Ballymena in the 'Joe Bambrick Final').... 1/2

2/3 James played for Linfield between 1913-15. His final appearance was in the win against Cliftonville in December 1915, just a few months before his untimely death James Walker is remembered on the Linfield War Memorial as well as on a memorial at Muckamore Presbyterian Church

Today we remember James Walker who passed away on 6th May 1916 aged just 24. James died of wounds received at Forceville, near the Somme. He is buried at Forceville Communal Cemetery, France. 1/3
