@tandemar At least he is reading from cards now so he doesn't forget his lines, super subtle barely notice him looking at the floor ever few seconds :D

Once again, his news is old hat.
Others, with their fingers truly on the gaming pulse, have covered this infinitely better, with a far superior reaction.

@buddingmonkey @GameDevMicah Have you factored in the 30% storefront cut which is applied after sales tax / VAT? Also that 1000 copies will likely be 70% the first month and then drop much lower over the rest of the year
English

For reference 1000 copies sold is about $22,000 take home after tax for a US developer.
That’s a $10.50/hr salary for one person if the dev cycle is 1 year.

1000 copies of such a great game is a sad tale of where the platform is right now for many developers. Hopefully Christmas will bring some new PSVR2 players in along with MSF & RE9. If RE9 VR mode doesn’t happen though, I’m not sure what Sony has planned for the future of PSVR2.

@mdf200 I dunno… that looks a bit egg like, the kind that opens up, sticks to your face and rams beasties down your throat… :D

@dreamkid83 Hope you’re going to get chance to checkout the various Gaudi buildings there, stunning stuff. (And nice ice cream at the gardens :) )

@mdf200 Usually not that performant either, but well written RegEx can be super flexible and handy.

@mdf200 I imagine in the UK you'd do that and get some tosser come along and either throw them on the ground anyway, or at your house :( So wish this was a grown up country too
English

@tandemar Before the PS1 Atari were pushing Jag devs to do 3D, there was the 3DO, and PC going 3D too. Yup all Sony’s fault for producing competent hardware, the bastards!
English

@mdf200 @subzeronell Not saying this is always the case, and also not everyone is taking the piss, there will be some large employers who are, but also some smaller businesses that are not. People that lose out are those who are now unemployed regardless
English

@mdf200 @subzeronell I agree, but also that means people who might be just under the minimum wage end up now losing all of that income, so they lose out. Assume it affects a large number of places then there are now even more people competing for fewer jobs with no income. No easy answer
English

@mdf200 And if they are not pocketing an extra £5?
What is wrong with looking at lowering the cost of living? banks give piss poor interest, energy costs are up, council tax etc. Could also adjust the NI / tax bands for low income people too. Reduce Employers NI etc (which is uncapped)
English

@Link2076 Same goes for them. if they pay someone £12 an hour, then pocket £5 an hour in extra profits, that's effectively that persons wage their taking.
If a £12 an hour person needs to claim benefits to survive, the taxpayer is subsidising that business, and they shouldn't be.
English

@mdf200 I agree, but rather than evil corporate, more thinking small corner shops / businesses. There may not be much in the way of profit in the 1st place, minimum wage up, results in having to let someone go or everyone loses out. No simple answer to the problem I think.
English

@Link2076 If they can't afford to pay people properly, then they can't afford to have staff, it's as simple as that. Paying slave wages so they can claim the profit off what they should have been paying, isn't right.
