@ParappatheAba @yellowslotcar Because every controller has "travel time" Your hands are constantly reconfiguring themselves for any given action and is something that gets faster the more you're experienced with a controller/game No controller is truly actuating at a rate that is detracting from your play

@LinkedChief @yellowslotcar Idk why you feel travel time is a fake issue, unless you mean in the sense that it doesn't really matter outside of high high level play. Which I might agree with, but that doesn't mean the advantage doesn't still exist. It's even more noticeable for stuff like dashblocks

@ParappatheAba @yellowslotcar I'm gonna be so real. Travel time is such a myth/fake issue lol If you wanted to say like "oh leverless has cleaner inputs on average" then that's an advantage, but now you're dealing with an unorthodox controller that hates bigger motion inputs with more buttons to learn

@LinkedChief @yellowslotcar Personal familiarity is the most important thing yeah but by "objective" he means as in divorced from that subjective personal aspect. Objectively, stick has more delay inherent to it over other controllers due to the travel time of having to move the full stick

@aplsedwashere @GoofyOomfie Likely because it's an unnatural motion/command for games designed around pads and sticks. Where it's kindof impossible to do an input like this, especially as any kind of shortcut Modern day fighters have the most lax input buffers imaginable to make things like 4136 possible

@GoofyOomfie Games just tend to get a hissy-fit whenever a leverless tries to do a half-circle for whatever reason. I never understood it myself

@LinkedChief @PattyWhacked @heylilliehere @CleaningTheMess @OofieTV OP asked how to drift and makes it very obvious the only thing she knows is left to go right rest of thread “use high hp yes it’s more of a power slide than a drift but once you get that understanding it’ll come natural” You: you actually need MWC it’s basic track 101!!!!!!

Someone teach me how to drift in girl words 😭 do I let off gas > ebrake > gas & turn? Or ebrake while turning with gas? Or do I just whip it and hope for the best? Someone send me a tune 😭 I know the speed3 is fwd but I plan on finding the specs for my old irl car’s tune and try to recreate that :3

I am loving Forza Horizon 6, but I can't figure out how to drift for the life of me. Help please!

@LinkedChief @PattyWhacked @heylilliehere @CleaningTheMess @OofieTV Tries to be pretentious, says this then talks about track driving 101 right after when the question was just how do I drift in my free roam arcade racer 🫩🫩🫩
Gank@LinkedChief

@airezee @PattyWhacked @heylilliehere @CleaningTheMess @OofieTV High HP/torque when learning to drift (let alone drive in a competitive setting) is the worst way to start anyone off It teaches poor control of the car and improper ways to initiate and control the drift. There's nothing hard about flicking or clutch kicking

@LinkedChief @PattyWhacked @heylilliehere @CleaningTheMess @OofieTV Again the original question was how do I drift in FORZA HORIZON 6, and you’re trynna bring in FD… also if you’re talking about real life why would you specify manual with clutch, that’s a given anyone who is around cars know you specify DCT’s 🫩

@PattyWhacked @LinkedChief @heylilliehere @CleaningTheMess @OofieTV I do but this guy is a dweeb talking about competitive settings for a tweet asking how to even get the rear end to break loose, and who tf plays Forza competitively? There’s so many better arcade racing games and actual sims… being smug because it’s the only thing he’s good at

@PattyWhacked @airezee @heylilliehere @CleaningTheMess @OofieTV It takes all of 10 minutes to get acclimated to going clutch+manual because it's not a sim game. You aren't having to rev match anything, start from a stop like a real manual, worry about roasting anything, and you can treat it like paddles while driving too

@LinkedChief @airezee @heylilliehere @CleaningTheMess @OofieTV Almost nobody plays manual w/clutch in this game and you’d be asking op to learn how to operate a clutch. Of course clutch kicking is easy once you know how to do it but there is a learning curve to driving that way at all. You can drift in a paddle shift just fine.

@LinkedChief @PattyWhacked @heylilliehere @CleaningTheMess @OofieTV For someone who doesn’t know how to drift high HP is always the answer, this person doesn’t even know how to get momentum and you expect them to know how to clutch kick at the right time? Let them burn tires until it clicks then they start learning about weight distribution etc

@PattyWhacked @heylilliehere @CleaningTheMess @OofieTV You don't need "lots of horsepower" That's what clutch kicking and the ebrake is for along with flicking the car If all you're doing is mashing the gas then you won't be able to control the drift either, it's all about throttle modulation

@DavidMathews109 @MCCCANM Last I remember you can move them independently of each other because there's nothing physical (like flight control cables) linking them together anymore. Hence the use of manual priority overrides

This case was on appeal & is likely to be appealed again. The pitot tube, which senses airspeed, froze over in a storm. That kicked off the autopilot. The two pilots took control, but over-controlled the jet & eventually locked the stick back, keeping the nose high & stalling. The Captain came in. Some words were exchanged, at which point one of the pilots revealed he’d been holding his stick back the whole time…the other pilot couldn’t have known this. The Captain overheard the comment & immediately knew this was the cause, but it was too late to lower the nose & recover. The jet hit the water relatively flat, like a pancake. (This is a basic summary only…there are other factors, but you don’t need to know about Airbus’ “Normal & Alternate Law” & I don’t know enough to teach it anyway)
