...The shy prince throws a ball. She couldn't afford a fancy gown, but she knew he loved books, so she felt like she could bond with him over literature. She strolled along the village path merrily... Little did she know she was walking into a witch's trap... #WritingCommunity

Happy Thursday, everyone! Here's a fun #QOTD: How would your main character tell the plot of the book in 1 sentence? Griffin from Flight: I got magic, couldn't use it, Lucy got left behind, trauma happened, then I finally saved my sister but at a high cost. #writingq #amwriting

I didn't realize how offensive my old grammar posts were until authors who make said errors on the regular started punching back. Backhanded comments. Passive-aggressive DMs. Gossip in certain author cliques. So, to all you dedicated comma splicers, homophone addicts, dialogue punctuation ignoramuses, tense hoppers, and firm "it's the story that counts" or "my editor will take care of it" believers, I would like to issue an apology: Here it goes: From the bottom of my heart: Sincerely, and with utmost conviction: LOL.

Fun worldbuilding Q for today! Are there multiple suns or moons in your book? ☀️🌘 I never thought about it for my story, but now that I'm working on fleshing out the worldbuilding some more, I'm considering it 🤔 #writingq #qotd #worldbuilding

Writing Q for today! While writing do you prefer music or complete silence? 🎶 I prefer either some white noise or quiet instrumental music. #writingq #music #nomusic #amwriting

@Linnaeus_Writer Not usually. They track the wife-killer down and bring him to justice. It’s 2 to 1 when they catch him. That changes in Chapter 29 when the odds are even.

Hi friends! Here's today's #QOTD: What is law enforcement like in your book or WIP? Flight: On the human side, they have soldiers and guards in every city and town. The Elder (magic-users) are completely scattered and have no government yet, much less law enforcement. #writingq

The other tie for #1 in TOP TEN READS on this platform since May 2025. "Cowboys and Queens" by DA Power. @DonnaPo54536348 I'm a sucker for 1980s settings because I lived through them. She describes them realistically to a T. Oh, and there's a ghost story too. Middle school!

Aubrey Reiss Taylor, Author
Gunter is a cop in Weimar Berlin, a scandalous place where crime and hedonism are rampant, and political strife is the order of the day. Feeling his hands are tied, he is drawn back into the activism he'd forsworn years earlier.

I've got 150+ followers on my new account 😍 Time to introduce my book. DIVE BEYOND ETERNITY is a nautical sci-fi/thriller, blending history with elements of sci-fi & fast-paced thriller. It's a great read for fans of Blake Crouch, A G Riddle, & Philip K Dick. Links 👇

@DNicholsAuthor I'm not using a pen name for my current content but a friend and I are drafting a book together, so we'll use a pen name for that I think. It's also a slightly different genre than what I normally write (I write high fantasy and this collab book is romantasy).

Writing thought: I tend to get the best ideas for stories in the shower. You know, when it's impossible to write! Sometimes I remember, sometimes I don't. Where do you often get the best ideas for your stories?

@caelanV Honestly, true. You can't write for everybody, so instead you gotta find where your readers are. The ones who like your style and the content you write.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm actually good at writing. If I deserve any of the praise I've gotten. Then I see some examples of trad pubbed books and think, "Ya, my writing's fine." The issue is getting the right eyes on what I'm crafting. And that will forever be the hard part.
