This time 12 months ago, “Vinnie” had $38 million in sales at MM25’ - with 35 of these selling for $250k+ The obsequious intro’s by the auctioneers every time his yearlings enter the ring “oh look at him - this one will be an early runner etc” does not correlate with his 2yo’s this year: ▪️2yo table x winners [every source/sale, not just MM] Sitting in 64th - 4 starters and 0 winners & total earnings $41k You would expect at the prices and commentary, it’s a guarantee of “put out [sales] & take back [racetrack] and you would think those 2yo’s would be up and going by now…. ▪️Ok then, what about established runners at the highest level - group 1 racing in Australia His last/only group 1 winners in 2025 were: Charm Stone [Sept 25’] in the Manikato Vinrock [April 25’] in the VRC Sires ▪️Hmm, lets look at recent “black type” races in Australia [since Caulf Cup/Everest week] 35 runners - 4 winners [“no G1 winners”] OHOPE - G2 Callander-Presnell CABALLUS - G3 Rising Fast INKARUNA - G3 Thoroughbred Club Stks CABALLUS - G3 BRC George Moore ▪️So, the last 4 days - general runners across Australia. 21 runners sold at the yearling sales [many of these are now 5yo or older as highlighted] and only 1 has earned more prizemoney than their cost - it sold for only $70k. look at the deficits these horses are carrying from the sales ring. To those at the tables with winning bids on a Vinnie yearling, this sobering data is irrelevant and they will maintain the continuous circle jerk and back slapping as these preponderant buyers swagger around the auditorium. ▪️And what about the Vinnie x Avantage yearling selling over $1,000,000+ This was one of the lessor tail lines at the sale [attached is the best runners from last 75 years] and somehow they believe this champion mare is going to be a champion producer - “unlikely from that family tail” Your returns would be better and risk averse, buying a lovely pedigree at book 2 from a mid-small size vendor for $40k or furthermore at the proven value stream of most yearlings in book 1 with a great pedigree and strong tail family in book 1 between $100-$250k ▪️All data on the site is complimentary - go down to the yearling section and click on the sale to see the tail families of all yearlings, if you want specialised reports - they are available in the online shop. progenyconsulting.net/rivers-of-gold Footnote: “emporer’s new clothes” “a bad idea, policy, product, leader, or trend”, but people pretend to admire or accept it out of fear of looking stupid, incompetent, disloyal, or out of step with the group.

Christmas always brings up a lot of emotions. It hasn't really been my thing for a while now since I've been pretty isolated a lot of my life. I usually take it as a time for deep reflection… quiet time with myself, getting into nature, and looking back on the year. But it can be tough just because the day looks different than what it “should” be. This year I’m also using it to deepen my faith and appreciate the meaning behind it in that sense. Either way, taking some time to train, catch up on work, spend time with my freinds, get some sunshine and set the vision for 2026. Merry Christmas team ❤️ 
 So beyond grateful for each and every one of you and your constant support. It means everything.
