But how many Canadians have actually experienced what healthcare can look like in other countries where competition, insurance, and market forces help drive better access and better service? In Canada, people wait months, sit on endless wait lists, and in some cases die before getting treated. Yet we’re still told to be proud of the system. That’s one reason medical tourism is growing. Canadians pay taxes into a healthcare system they often can’t even access when they need it, then end up going to other countries and paying again just to actually get care. At some point, people have to admit they’re being sold a story that no longer matches reality.
