Just dropped my daughter off at school. Everyone we met on the way in was on edge or on the verge of tears. Your Jewish friends are NOT ok, and it only takes 2 seconds to check up on them.

To our friends: 78 years ago, the world promised the Jewish people that the atrocities of the Holocaust would never happen again. You pledged that no Jewish family would burn to death in their home, that no Jewish children would be kidnapped from their beds and dragged through the streets, that no Jewish girl would be raped and murdered, and that Jews would never again have to hide from those seeking to eradicate us. Now, we need you to stand with us and speak up. We need you to fulfill that promise. We need your voice to call out the antisemitic atrocities facing the Jewish nation and those who support them. #NeverAgain is now.

Hi chronically ill and/or disabled friends, What's the most ridiculous advice that you've ever received regarding your chronic illness and/or disability?

People who are generally healthy don’t understand how limited treatment options can sometimes be for chronic illnesses. They’re always like “isn’t there anything else they can do??” “Why don’t you just go to the dr??” If only it were always that simple. 😐😐

Opioids can be effective and safe when taken as prescribed. They provide relief to millions of people who suffer from severe chronic pain, helping them maintain their quality of life. #ChronicPain

Even if the causes can’t be found, or there aren’t yet treatments, people deserve basic compassion, time, support, and understanding of what they’re experiencing. It’s hard having a body that fails so spectacularly whilst showing no signs on existing tests. It’s hard.

It also leads to delaying getting help for many things because of the barriers of not being listened to, being disbelieved, or being told “good news, results look normal!” While you’re in a heap of pain and exhaustion, dizziness,nausea, and 100 other symptoms, unable to live life

…to no treatment. No improved quality of life, a dead end for the patient. It’s hard to explain to most people that you *hope* there is something wrong in tests. Not because you want there to be, but because you KNOW there is, and until something is found, you get no help.

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about how traumatic it is having illnesses without bio markers, and/or being disbelieved and brushed aside by medics either before they’ve tried finding what’s wrong, or when they can’t find what’s wrong. Over and over, and over again. It leads…

Someone just asked my due date. I am not pregnant. A reminder, once again, that unless a woman tells you she is pregnant, please don’t assume. It’s really hurtful.
