@BrianCVC @letusrevolt @ConallOM @IIBN @ChinneryGin Yes, that must have be David Havelin @LiquidIrish! Our bottles were custom-designed and we had to go as far as Italy to get our labels printed. The highly ornate inside label & window cut outs meant that it was a very difficult& technical print but these guys did a wonderful job!

I got a present of this very nice bottle of Irish gin. Really clever, impressive packaging. I can't wait to try it and I'm willing to risk the intellectual decay and ruin...might be too late anyway.

A tougher sell is the fact that most Irish whiskey is made from a grain that can't even grow in Ireland.

Grain provenance in the spotlight on @morningireland just now, but with heavy focus on maize imports rather than barley. Could Ireland ever grow enough high-grade maize to keep the columns in GND, Midleton et al going?

Oh no, that is dreadfully sad. I've been a fan of his column for many years and I had some great conversations with him. A very erudite and fun individual. My deepest sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues. RIP.

Managed a quick visit to the Revenue Museum this week. Admired the various old measuring gizmos Excise used to wield.
