@Sports_Kings_ The thing that nobody is talking about is how Pat's and Caleb's injury histories could affect the Duke roster next season. There is no guarantee that both will make it through the year. Any coach would have to consider how this fits into the mix. Love both these kids, though.

I'm receiving some very disturbing messages concerning Duke basketball treatment with a player that bleeds Duke Blue and wants to return. Nothing confirmed, but if it is true, I'd have to question the loyalty of the coaches.

@Hoopsatduke Personally, I hate that it all comes down to one game that only two teams get to play. I like knowing the players, watching them develop over time. Feeling like family. I like loyalty. I prefer developing talent over buying it. I think I prefer the way bball used to be.

Duke fans, I know we're still kinda new to the transfer game, but relax. Remember, none of the players who started for Michigan's title run were on Michigan roster last year when the transport opened on March 24.

@Hoopsatduke Free Throws. 2 more made could've changed the outcome. We're going to be ahead at the end in a lot of games, which means we're going to get fouled. Getting the whole team above 85% - a worthy goal, I think.

If Duke players didn’t commit four live-ball turnovers that resulted into 9 points for UConn, today would be different. Duke should have never needed to be in that position to lose.

@Sleeper_Hoops Well, if you understand probability, that means 1 out of 10 times that game ends as a loss. Nothing short of 100% is a sure bet.

Duke has lost 7 times in the last 2 seasons... In 6 of those games, they had a win probability over 90% 🤯

@CPark_1985 Being a Duke fan is not impossible. Plenty continue to support our school and team regardless of final outcome. I just read somewhere that Jon Scheyer has been named NABC Coach of the Year, so yeah - All of it matters to the people closest to the sport.

Being a Duke fan is pretty much impossible. Regular seasons don’t matter Conference tournaments don’t matter You’re judged solely on the NCAAT- and you lose a game it’s a failure. 1 team out or 64 accomplishes that - very unfair expectations for Duke.

@BlueDevilJunkie I just saw that Jon was named NABC Coach of the year. For everyone who is currently trashing our Coach Scheyer, his peers in the National Association of Basketball Coaches emphatically disagree.

“No one does less with more than Scheyer” Since Scheyer took over for K few coaches have achieved more. Hurley clearly is one. And Golden won it all so I’ll give you that. Besides those two, no other coach has more than 1 final four, no coach has more elite 8s, no coach has more conference regular season or tourney championships at the same program. It’s his first 4 years as a head coach, he’s clearly improving season by season and is the man to lead us. So yeah I’m not close to buying any of the BS on here about him underachieving or not being the man for the job.

Nah. Not even close. It’s the expectation. People call Duke “the standard” and they’re not. You can’t have that label when you haven’t even APPEARED in a Natty since 2015.

@DukeManiacs I'm just not getting why so many think that we're entitled to a Natty any more than any other team that has kids on the floor playing their hearts out in March? And I also don't get why a Natty - and only a Natty - is the only thing that can validate our program? Crazy stuff.

Had to mute this whiner that says that the current structure of Duke basketball has to change. "We don't need talent from HS, but 80-90% older players..." No, you dummy, we need to have a mixture & trust in the process. Would your stance be the same had we be Houston and UConn?

@CPark_1985 It's everybody's last live Duke game for awhile? The season is over ... Seriously, if you don't love watching Duke play in person, then nah, why go? I find it worth the money for the experience alone, but not everybody does.

Last night was my last live Duke game for awhile. It’s just not worth it. I went to SIX this year and if you add tickets - hotels - food - flights it’s $3,000 - $4,000 Such a waste of time and money.

@Veney2019 @DukeManiacs So, about this... Natty's are the standard, but there is 1 available in a given year. And how many programs are competing for it? Coach K won 5 over 46 YEARS. That's about 1 every 9 years ... and as he is the 2nd most Natty winning coach ever-it can take some time to get even 1.

@DukeManiacs He can win as many games as possible but the facts are the facts, National Championships are the standard, Scheyer is obviously safe for this year and next but how long can we tolerate choking games at this level?

Sorry my friend but this is the thinking that would get us into a situation of searching for greener grass when we have a coach that only loss 3 games this year. Really?

@ktomassoni1 Yeah. For me, it wasn't so much that we lost - I've been around a long time, and losses are just part of the package. No, for me - I just wasn't ready for it to be over. Love this Team. Thanks guys! Duke '79

@SlimShadii_23 I'm a Mom too - Been feeling bad for these boys all night. But, I'm also Duke '79 and just so proud of everyone connected to this team - What a class act all around! There are bigger, brighter days ahead 4U down the road - Thanks to all for a great season from a die-hard fan!
