#85141 Orwell Terrace, Dovercourt, Essex (1922) by Bells. This photo looking north down Orwell Terrace, was originally built by John Bagshaw in the 1840's it was part of the "Bells" Series of "Dovercourt", published at Leigh-on-Sea, The series had at least 25 cards (#85121-145).

@The_East_End Yes 🤩there was a picture of a strawberry & cream layered Victoria sponge cake on one of the cards. Me and my siblings were always begging mum to make it. Were they by Marguerite Patten? Either way the cake was always delish 😜

Another whizz back in time - who else remembers these? My mother had an identical set - and probably used no more than half a dozen cards… we still survived…! #eastend #history #humour

@brown12008 If you never watched it, the white man, Eddie, always came off worse and had lots of racist attacks aimed at him. (Mostly deserved.) The laugh was always on Eddie and showed how pathetic his remarks were. Don’t recall either black/white people complaining

Anyone remember this? When people got on together and laughed at and with each other? Note the parental guidance I guess people would now call it racist but back in the day it was just banter and both laughed it off

So many people we know have taken their tree and decorations down already. Our are still up and will be until after New Year. When do you take yours down?
