Stockport County have appointed Tracey Neville as Managing Director of their women’s team. From 2026-2027, club will compete as Stockport County Women (prev Ladies) - a change they say “reflects evolution of women’s game and club’s commitment to equality, opportunity and growth.”

@niajones92 @kirstums1207 What about veo or similar? Universities and schools use these to live stream hockey. Couldn’t this be a lower cost way of engaging fans to start with at least?

@kirstums1207 I agree, unfortunately comes down to funding I think. It costs a lot for a basic stream, never mind if we also want multiple camera productions with replays, commentary, graphics, interviews etc 💰 Buying a ticket is the best way to help so well done 🙌

Watched Celtic Cup as a fan. I watch a lot of sport, & think netball really needs these to increase entertainment:
1) singing/chants/more vocal fans
2) far less whistle
3) press conferences
4) quicker process for blood
5) change captain’s tag
6) Universal International windows

Pair the TA with the ACP & add waffle from people pushing likes on instagram, we are in a wild west, where not only players must be lost, but coaches wanting to develop & improve have no reference point to what good coaching or good hockey looks like. Huge change needed.

@Lisa_Hiley @david_brereton1 @FowerakerE @EnglandHockey No separate agenda here - and appreciate choice is also down to individual child. Just strikes me as a difficult argument if willingly choosing to travel 2 hrs to get to club hockey one night but then considering it wrong to do it for TA.

@Willowsacorns @david_brereton1 @FowerakerE @EnglandHockey I’m confused. It’s where we live. I’ve lived here for 25 years. T doesn’t board. School choice has no factor for TA for us. School is a mile across town, fee paying or not has no relevance to TA. You clearly have a separate agenda which is a different issue.

@Lisa_Hiley @david_brereton1 @FowerakerE @EnglandHockey In an ideal world it wouldn’t be (and for those at state school with no option I 100% agree). However, our choice of school most definitely took PC venue and transport into consideration and is why SC was simply never an option.

@Willowsacorns @david_brereton1 @FowerakerE @EnglandHockey School is irrelevant, we LIVE in Scarborough, I’m not moving house to go to TA! I’m fully prepared to travel, it’s the trade off for living at the end of the line, but 2+ hours is excessive imo.

@Lisa_Hiley @david_brereton1 @FowerakerE @EnglandHockey I do agree (to a point). But also choice of school a huge factor in that distance. From Scarborough it’s 2hrs to any club with suitable facilities for TA. Good luck with the Leeds travel.

@Willowsacorns @david_brereton1 @FowerakerE @EnglandHockey Sad that our closest TA now is at least 2 hours away. On a school night that’s just not feasible. So the kids miss out or look to other providers. Sheffield TA which replaces the Yorks TA is even further! North Yorkshire is the largest county and has no TA. Ridiculous.

@david_brereton1 @FowerakerE Do Freedom of Information requests work for @EnglandHockey - I feel very aggrieved about our own experience, the issues faced at Yorkshire TA despite great coaches and the lack of support from EH to try and level the playing field (or at least support the area)

In June, the Art and DT classrooms were knocked down to be replaced by a stunning new facility. There will be 3 extra classrooms and extra space for departments.
The beautiful views of Scarborough remain. The last two videos show last week compared to today.
