@olsonplanner SAVE is great when you make less than you owe. It starts to become less beneficial as your income inches higher than your debt. MFS is almost always the cheapest monthly pmt for you households with dual income. Definitely need to understand the student loan and tax implications.

The SAVE plan is great for times when money is tight, like in residency. Filing taxes separately if you’re married to further reduce the payment can also be useful at such times. But your tax bill may be higher by doing this. Run the numbers both ways to see what that tax liability difference is, or pay someone to prep and file your taxes. You don’t want to end up stepping over a quarter to grab a dime.
