Today little Rosie crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our gentle little 15-year old rescue. She graced our lives with joy, fun, empathy, silliness, and beauty. We had a vet come over and we were with her through the transition process. Rosie was pure love. #rosiedog #rescuedog

The Kyoto Aquarium in Japan keeps a wall-sized flowchart tracking the romantic relationships, breakups, and drama between their penguins. They update it every year. Red hearts mean couples. Blue broken hearts mean it’s over. Purple lines with question marks mean it’s complicated. Yellow means friendship. Green means enemies. One female penguin reportedly ended six relationships in a single year. The comment under her photo, translated from Japanese, described her as “basically demonic.” Another penguin was caught dating someone 17 years older who also turned out to be their great aunt. And penguins who get broken up with sometimes refuse to eat. Apparently the staff say wing-flapping means flirting, grooming each other means it’s official, and if a penguin steals another penguin’s egg… well, it’s exactly what it looks like.

So @hadestown was absolutely stunning. First shout out goes to the band - not at all easy to play live and on stage. But the cast was sublime. The sheer energy burning on the stage was incredible. Special Mention for Persephone who just blew the whole audience away. But both leads and ensemble were outstanding. Set and choreo also perfect. Just loved it. Standing O very well deserved. Love musicals? You’ll love this.

@Helen_Fields @hadestown I saw it with the original cast (Reeve and Eva, Andre de Shields, etc.) and it bumped Hamilton for my favorite musical. But the chemistry was real. Anais Mitchell's book: Working on a Song is great for a creative writer to read after. Lin-Manuel Miranda gave her the best blurb.

I'm off to see @hadestown tomorrow in London with my musicals mad daughter. Has anyone seen it? Thoughts?
