'Queer Doings at Quantham'. Rather curious placing of a bollard don't you think? Queer doings indeed!!

@Historylecturer The 26 wasn't every 30 minutes when I tried to catch it. They only started running to any kind of timetable later on Christmas Day. Staying out of town today (New Year's). Not worth it.

So Edinburgh council wants us all to go car-free but we have almost no buses on Christmas Day etc? As far as I can tell 1, 12, 22, 31 not running today. 900 Citylink wanted to charge me £20 to get to city centre.

Any idea what this is? I thought it was a hat originally but it has organic (stinky) material under it. It looks like some animal has been skinned. By West Craigs Manor (sic), Edinburgh

Dr Scott Arthur MP (Edinburgh South West) 🌍🌈🌹
One of the low points of the COVID pandemic in Edinburgh was the death of Colinton's James Harrison in a road accident (June 2020). We now know the driver responsible was was more than two times over the legal limit for driving with cannabis. James was a father of two young children. He worked as lead research nurse in cardiology (a unit which saved my life). When he was killed he was on his way to a shift he had volunteered for in the intensive care unit to support the Covid-19 response during the pandemic. The person responsible has been jailed for two years: bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotla…

@dahontr3 @CllrScottArthur Many people are under the impression that cannabis doesn't impair your judgement at all. Or less than alcohol does. They certainly don't think about consequences. Much like lockdown supporters seemed oblivious to economic and social consequences.

This is a hip tomb, so-called because it resembles a hip roof on a house. This is the second one we have found at Dalry. It’s made of unpolished granite, and very hard to read is some lead sans-serif text on the side. Had I been asked to approximate a date for a granite monument with sans-serif lettering, I would have said late 1800s, early 1900s. This one is 1848. Which goes to show how much I know! 🏠🪦🌳

@dahontr3 @CllrScottArthur p.s. I don't support what he did BTW. But those who pushed for over-long lockdowns like Cllr Arthur have never addressed their social consequences. They did it because someone else above them told them they were needed. Domestic abuse also went through the roof in this period

@dahontr3 @CllrScottArthur He did make a choice to smoke cannabis, but I doubt he chose to mow people down. Lockdown created a massive increase in substance abuse which has never been addressed by its supporters. Many addicts died as a result, and the so called "cost of living" crisis is also down to it.

@cocteautriplets Do you not remember those giant "pocket dictionaries" too? The only ones which were pocket sized were Collins Gem and Oxford Mini. You would need a "poacher's pocket" and good lining to carry that thing.
