2024 has been a brilliant year for me, with so many personal milestones and fantastic events. The main highlight however was the publication of my book and the tremendous reception it has received so far. Thank you to everyone and happy reading in 2025!

Heard of someone today having had a bad accident falling downstairs. Hey fellow over-70s, please hang on to the banister when you're using the stairs.

Yesterday: car overtook me on a steep bridge on continuous white line (illegal); swerved to avoid collision with an oncoming & near caused me to crash (reckless endangerment) Caught up, knocked on window. Passenger got out & tried to physically intimidate me. Driver threatened me

"A great adventure mystery story, set in one of the best places on earth - the west coast of Scotland. Would recommend! Thanks for writing this, it was amazing." An anonymous Amazon review. I'll take that! Worth a look.

Awful hypocrisy: UK factories make and export thousands of tons of pesticides deemed too dangerous for us to use, but it is apparently fine to poison Brazilian farmers. Government should ban this immoral trade. @Greenpeace @PAN_UK theguardian.com/environment/20…

imo Easter Sunday should be on 1 April every year, and the rest of the calendar adjusted to make that happen

This just shows how out of touch the Churches are with the laity - never mind a common date of Easter, we want a FIXED date of Easter so it isn’t bafflingly different every year!
Church Times@ChurchTimes

Leaders of the Roman Catholic and the Eastern Orthodox Churches are signalling their openness to setting a common date for Easter — an opportunity arising with the approaching 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea. #Echobox=1734081821" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">churchtimes.co.uk/articles/2024/…

Didn't Just Stop Oil folk get arrested and imprisoned for impeding traffic? And they were selflessly trying to save the planet, while these people are trying to avoid paying 50% of a tax everyone else has to pay.
Robbie Moore MP@_RobbieMoore

So let me get this straight… On the day hundreds of farmers are in London to rightfully protest against #FamilyFarmTax, this Labour Gov releases a 464 page report on food security which doesn’t contain single mention of the Family Farm Tax. We need FULL impact assessment now.

Just to clarify: the family farm tax will make some people on less than the minimum wage, pay a 20k a year tax for 10 years…. Only they obviously won’t be able to pay it, so they’ll sell up and it will be big city corporates who buy them. No ‘progressive’ should support this.
