The most common misconception about @litecoin I hear being repeated is that it was built to compete with @Bitcoin.
It actually wasn't, @SatoshiLite designed Litecoin to complement Bitcoin. Here's the simplest way to think about it: Bitcoin is a great store of value, but it isn’t optimized for everyday payments. Litecoin is.
LTC is faster and cheaper to use for day-to-day transactions, which is exactly why it continues to see real-world payment activity 14 years in.
Bitcoin and Litecoin each advance the “digital assets as currency” case together by playing different roles.

Litecoin took a 13-block reorg. On-chain timestamps show blocks 3095930-3095943 took ~3h to mine, normally a 30-minute window. Block time during the attack: 13.5 min average, 5.4x slower than baseline. That's the signature of a 51% attack: public chain mines slowly while the attacker builds a private chain in parallel. Once the private chain becomes longer, it replaces the public one. 13-block reorg is the outcome. Anyone running cross-chain LTC infrastructure needs to extend confirmation requirements or pause inflows. Low-hashrate L1s aren't safe collateral for cross-chain value anymore.

On April 25th, Litecoin underwent a 13 block reorg after non updated mining nodes accepted invalid MWEB transactions. The chain reorganized the affected blocks and transparent UTXOs remained intact throughout.
ForceX performed an independent reconciliation across the window.
The mainchain supply, UTXO set integrity, and transparent transaction history all match the post reorg state with no discrepancies.
Data confirms zero impact to mainchain integrity.
Litecoin reorganized around an invalid state, it preserved all transparent UTXO accounting, and continued producing blocks just as it was designed.
The network's 100% uptime remains intact.

A surprising number of 'experts' are getting this wrong by calling it a 51% attack or claiming there were confirmed double spends. Neither are true. They exploited a consensus validation bug that let invalid data slip through vulnerable (outdated) nodes, not a hashrate dominance issue. The reorg was the network's self-correction which demonstrated resilience by reorging the bad chain and patching quickly.
