Farmers’ fields have become a dumping ground for fly-tippers … remote, unmonitored, and shielded from prying eyes 👀 But let’s be honest about what’s driving this. Councils, through short-sighted and heavy-handed waste policies, are pushing people toward illegal disposal. When it’s expensive, inconvenient, or bureaucratic to do the right thing, some will choose the wrong one — and it’s our farmers who pay the price. Broken systems create bad outcomes. Until councils take responsibility…..with fair access, sensible charges, and proper enforcement … this will keep happening. Our countryside is not a landfill. 🌾

Day 9 of the Great British Spring Clean see Lynn Chris Kev and I on Exley woods. 30 bags of litter and other bits picked up awaiting bringing up over the wall on Sunday. Was rather annoyed a neighbour saw fit to leave her rubbish there too. The cheek of it.

1/3… What a fantastic turnout for yesterday's Great British Spring Clean litter pick! ☀️ We are waiting for the group phot. We had 40 amazing volunteers join us – including 3 first-timers 👏 – making the most of the lovely weather while doing something truly worthwhile.

Day 11 of the Great British Spring Clean see 6 Wombles out in Ovenden after a request from a resident on 18th. 18 bags of litter collected. However Linda and Sharon did 3 more bags on their way over. I love this team.

We did a Moseley Street clean up today and we're really pleased with the result! 44 bags of litter filled across our neighbourhood too!

Perry Barr station looks clean today, but when the back of the station looks like this on Birchfield Road, what would you think ? S-ithole is what you would think, and this makes me sad when local residents are helping to clean up the area. @MorriamJan @Jonperrybarr @CllrMajid
