People attacking George Lucas over his AI comments don't understand George Lucas. Lucas was always at the forefront of every technological advancement. Lucasfilm invented the graphical editing timeline that everyone, from major motion pictures to YouTubers, use to edit video. He was pushing digital filmmaking so fiercely that Sony invented new cameras just for him to use on Attack of the Clones, and back then everyone was against digital filmmaking. There's a hilarious story about George visiting Spielberg on the set of Ready Player One (where they were using digital cameras) and George was walking around with his daughter pointing them out sarcastically saying "Look, there's a digital camera. There's another digital camera." If Lucas were making movies today he'd absolutely find some insane way to implement AI into the process that everyone else would adopt a decade later.

@32_vu32810 The Force is a great analog for real ideas... and one I have unfortunately come to accept Lucas somewhat discovered by mistake. He seems to think of its ambiguity and broad applications are shortcomings as opposed to symbolic strengths.

Every time someone says "worldbuilding" it just radiates immsense Reddit / Youtube essay energy. Light fiction does, in fact, not require thorough worldbuilding, or an elaborate magic system.
