Couldn’t agree more. Surely if the whole school is closed there can be a way for year six to say goodbye and have closure together before their next educational journey ❤️

Don’t often comment on primary, but... Y6 have to have a way to spend some time being Y6 before they go up to secondary. Even if for only a week. If we don’t go back till September even if it means pushing everything back a week. They have to be able to say goodbye properly.

To clarify, teachers are not wanting to stay home or shirk work. All educators want to be at school with the children they love, care for and have worked so hard for in the current challenges we face. But they want to open when it is safe to do so; when they can keep schools safe

If we're ever thinking "soon we will be back to normal" in schools any attempt to do so from September won't work quite so easily. We're going to have to deal with children's MH in ways we never have before. And that of our teachers and TAs too.

A huge thank you to all the Headteachers who have made the wellbeing of their staff and pupils a priority these last two weeks.
It’s hard to remain strong and not go into panic-derived-senseless-task overload, but many have done it and done it well.

I have had lots of teachers asking me if they can use my children’s stories to make online videos for their pupils. Normally you have to get the author’s permission but please feel free to do whatever you like with my books at this time. Use them at toilet paper if that helps. x
