@Vitus_osst One of the unexpected lessons of ministry is sometimes a smartphone is more hygienic than a Book of Blessings. After visiting isolation rooms, it’s much easier to sanitise a screen than the pages of a well loved liturgical book.

As much as we love our unique Grade 1* Listed Continental Baroque church, caring for it is a huge challenge for a small, ageing congregation. Perhaps it’s time to consider the French model, where the State maintains the historic fabric while churches remain places of worship.

We have had a response from @metpoliceuk that they attended within 25 minutes of our call. Given the seriousness of the situation, involving an apparent assault on carers, every minute mattered. Being told attendance would be “within hour” was understandably concerning.

Today we came across two carers and their vulnerable client from @ShawTrust in Canons Park today who asked us to call @metpoliceuk for help. Sadly, the response was that officers would attend within an hour. Vulnerable people deserve better when they need urgent assistance.

Sad to hear of the death of Edward Stourton. A old school journalist of integrity, he never made the story about himself. His own faith quietly informed his work on the Sunday programme, alongside a genuine understanding and respect for people of all faiths. May he rest in peace.

So, @TfL, the southbound Metropolitan line platform board is still out. A very helpful station assistant told me it’s been two years. The roof leaks, no one wants to fix it, so the sign can’t be repaired. Joined up thinking… or just a stalemate? 🤔
