“Developers and housing advocates alike will be watching closely. If Levien is unable to achieve the public-private partnership he says developers need, the project will likely fall apart.”

Pruitt asks why do we have parking minimums?

Students are valuable members of our community. We wish local elected officials incorporated this into their thinking about housing policy.
And by-right ADU’s are some of the lowest hanging fruit in land use reform. Discretionary review makes them financially infeasible.

Supervisor @DianthaMcKeel is supportive of accessory dwelling units but NOT by right. She is concerned that such inventory would be taken up with UVA students. I know students have to have someplace to live but I want to focus on my citizens.

Our mission is to build an inclusive Charlottesville area with affordable housing, sustainable transportation, healthy neighborhoods that are welcoming to all.
We believe this now more than ever. Join us.

There are sidewalks but no crosswalks in this area, between a dense (LIHTC) apartment complex and a commercial area in a new mixed-use development. Because VDOT prioritizes "operational impacts" over safety.

Just horrible. A woman and three young children were struck by a vehicle as they were walking across Stony Point Road last week. One of the children, a 4-month- old, later died and the other two were critically injured.
