DMX - Ruff Ryders’ Anthem / Slippin Woodstock ‘99 - Rome, NY. Over 200,000 people in the field. DMX had just become the first rapper ever to debut two albums at No 1 in the same year. The entire crowd barking “Stop… Drop…” One of the most electric moments of Woodstock ’99, and DMX owned it.

Mötley Crüe — Mötley Crüe (1994) The John Corabi era. Vince Neil was out. The sound got heavier. Produced by Bob Rock (Metallica’s Black Album). The band even discussed changing their name during this time. A darker Crüe for the grunge era. 32 years ago today.

Helmet might be the most underrated band of the 90s. Riffs ahead of their time. “Die young is far too boring these days” 2 years before Kurt killed himself.

Orgy — “Stitches” (1998) Family Values Tour New Orleans Jonathan Davis discovered the band and brought them onto the tour. Their cover of “Blue Monday” was all over MTV. "Stitches" was just starting to get rotation. Industrial synths. Nu-metal crowds. Family Values chaos.
