@ykitagawa77 and, similarly, I'd suggest that the idea that there are "real" victims creates a standard of behavior for people who have been abused that is not always realistic and promotes victim blaming. I just think we need to be mindful of the consequences of how we're talking about this

@ykitagawa77 I'm not really interested in arguing about the facts of this case, especially since it's taken such a weird turn on social media. Just, statistically, intimate partner violence is common and I think we should be mindful of this trial increasing stigma toward survivors.

@ykitagawa77 A lot of stigma exists against people who have experienced abuse. This includes the stereotype that people who have experienced abuse lie about it. But we know that ~30% of people have experienced some form of violence from an intimate partner.

This is hell. This place we live in, where this happens….this is what hell is.
