Here is the Penn State recruiting reality check nobody wants to say after a feel-good weekend. One commitment from a three/four-star cornerback in March does not fix a 2027 class that lost its foundation when Franklin was fired. The Robinson commitment is a good sign. Terry Smith closing a Florida kid on a spring visit is exactly what you want to see. The momentum from this weekend is real. But Penn State's 2027 class is starting from nearly zero in a recruiting cycle where Ohio State, Georgia and Michigan have already built significant momentum. The spring visit window runs through April. Summer officials start in June. That is when the real tests come. Campbell has three months to turn this weekend's positive impressions into a recruiting class that can compete with the programs Penn State needs to beat on the field. Robinson is the first domino.
